animal TESTING

FACE atelier received official approval of its animal testing policies from PETA shortly after we launched. We're grateful to be among the few companies in the beauty industry that have received PETA’s coveted recognition as a cruelty-free company. PETA has since honored FACE atelier founder Debbie Bondar with their Trail-Blazer Award for "blazing the cruelty-free trail with a line of products that makes looking your best a joy for both humans and animals."

FACE atelier is also recognized by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program, and is listed as an approved manufacturer on their Caring Consumer website. The CCIC administers a global cruelty-free standard, evidenced by the internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo for companies producing cosmetic, personal care, and household products.

FACE atelier is strongly against animal testing. Period. Approval by CCIC and PETA is the industry gold standard and the best assurance for consumers that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or suppliers. Even without the approval of PETA and the CCIC, we still wouldn't test on animals. Because at FACE atelier, we want to sleep at night.

FACE atelier is in the process of becoming a vegan brand as we remove non-vegan ingredients from our products. Beeswax is not longer an ingredient in Ultra Camouflage Duet and lanolin will soon be removed from our lipsticks. While completing  this task, we struggle with what ingredients are considered to encroach upon vegan standards as our experience reveals there is not a universal consensus as to what is considered a non-vegan ingredient. For example, some vegans have no objection to beeswax, a natural wax produced by bees to build honeycomb cells. But some do.

Below is a list of ingredients and products that may not be considered vegan. At FACE atelier, we think knowledge is power and we value a well-informed consumer!
